I find television to be very educating.  Every time somebody turns on the set, I go in the other room and read a book.

Bryan Hitch Describes The History Behind Superman: The Movie

CBR News reports from The Glasgow Film Festival where Superman Fan Bryan Hitch explains the origins of the original Superman movie.

In the closing days of the 1978 Christmas holidays, one of my sisters’ flowing red nighties, along with a pair of her red knickers, went missing, and it was all Richard Donner’s fault.

It was Richard Donner’s fault too that my eight year old self firmly believed that tying a girls nightie to my neck whilst also wearing her knickers, somehow gave me the power of flight.

I can share with you now the absolute truth that it did not.

As I stood there, balancing on the top railing at the front of our house, nightie flapping heroically in the winter sunlight, it did however give Brendan Rogers from across the street, an excellent reason to kick a football at me until I had a nosebleed. Since I truly hated football, my own personal Lex Luthor had somehow found my Kryptonite.

Akira Production Halted

Warner Brothers has closed this production down presumably due to financial concerns.

The budget for the film had been reduced several times and came under the gun again when the current $90 million production budget became too hefty….. again.

Don’t count Akira out though.  This film has already been shelved several times and insiders report that the film is not dead yet.

The same “fiancial pressure” is also being felt by the early production of Arthur and Lancelot being directed by Wedding Crashers Director David Dobkin.

A full report on the close can be found at the Hollywood Reporter.

With Marvel recently deciding to release their digital comics at the same time as their print comics, many fans are switching over to digital while many former fans are returning to the genre as a quick impulse purchase on their phones or tablets.

Here it is, the FREE CDC Zombies PDF Comic Book from the CDC.  It’s all about a Zombie attack and is intended to be a tongue-in-cheek way of informing the public of how to deal with an outbreak.

I’m still getting my anti-Zombie weaponry ready.

Finally A Decent Avengers Trailer

Marvel has released a new trailer for the Avengers movie due for release in 2012.

The trailer shows your typical assembly montage and a slight altercation between Captain America and Tony Stark.

It’s also has the first real showing of The Hulk.

Well done.  It sure helps keep my appetite whetted.
