I find television to be very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go in the other room and read a book.
~Groucho Marx
To read a book for the first time is to make an acquaintance with a new friend; to read it for a second time is to meet an old one.

If there’s a book you really want to read but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it.

Abraham Lincoln,
Books on Film & Television The new Amazing Spider-Man trailer shows more detail about the suit, the villain and the plot. It is very well done.
It looks to me like Spidey loses his anonymity in this movie. Way more fighting and showing off his powers while unmasked than any other Spider-Man movie to date. I don’t remember the story working that way.
I mean he looks bad-ass and all, but the storyboards were drawn… fourty years ago.

MTV journalist Kara Warner interviewed Kit Harington (Jon Snow) recently and asked him what was in store for Jon in Season 2.
Kit was nice enough to touch on the fact that it is “nice” for Jon to meet a woman, referring to Ygritte who will be played by Scottish Actress Rose Leslie. He also says that Episode Nine may be the big one to watch adding that Jon gets to do more “real fighting” this season.

We laughed on the podcast but I am genuinely sad to hear that instead of March 2012 I will have to wait until January 11th 2013 for Paramount to release this movie.
Insiders speculate that the move may have been made for two reasons.
1. Jeremy Renner (Hansel) will be in too many movies this year. Audiences might get Renner-ed out. He is currently in Mission Impossible and will later this year star as Hawkeye in the Avengers and as Jason Bourne in the Bourne

The Girl Who Played With Fire and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest will both be shown on the big screen according to Deadline.com. Sony pictures blames bad timing on the release of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo for the less than stellar box office of it’s major holiday release; citing that perhaps a film with two brutal rape scenes might not be best suited for holiday viewing. It can not help that the book already had an adaptation in Swedish which was well received.

Warner Brothers has closed this production down presumably due to financial concerns.
The budget for the film had been reduced several times and came under the gun again when the current $90 million production budget became too hefty….. again.
Don’t count Akira out though. This film has already been shelved several times and insiders report that the film is not dead yet.
The same “fiancial pressure” is also being felt by the early production of Arthur and Lancelot being directed by Wedding Crashers Director David Dobkin.
A full report on the close can be found at the Hollywood Reporter.
